Status

The Status index card enables you to see at a glance which AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic modules are active, provides information on the last update or on whether you own a valid license.

AntiVir Guard

Information on the current status of AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic Guard is displayed in this box.

The following possibilities are available:

Icon	Status	Option	Description
	Activated	Deactivate	The Guard service is active, i.e. your system is continually monitored for viruses and unwanted programs. Note You can deactivate the Guard service. However, please note that you are no longer protected from viruses and unwanted programs when the Guard is deactivated. All files can pass through the system unnoticed and possibly cause damage.
	Deactivated	Activate	The Guard service is deactivated, i.e. the service is loaded but is not active. Warning No scan is carried out for viruses and unwanted programs. All files can pass through the system unnoticed. You are not protected against viruses and unwanted programs. Note In order to be protected from viruses and unwanted programs again, please click on the link Activate in the AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic Guard box.
	Service stopped	Start service	The Guard service is stopped. Warning No scan is carried out for viruses and unwanted programs. All files can pass through the system unnoticed. You are not protected against viruses and unwanted programs. Note In order to be protected from viruses and unwanted programs again, please click on the link Start service. The current status should now be displayed as Activated. Note The Start option is not available for Windows 98, ME. Here it is recommended to restart the system.
	Not installed	Help	The Guard service is not installed. Warning No scan is carried out for viruses and unwanted programs. All files can pass through the system unnoticed. You are not protected against viruses and unwanted programs Note This information may also indicate a problem. The Guard service is not installed or is installed and may have been terminated manually. The configuration program and service may be incompatible (different versions) or there is a communication problem. Observe the event log on your workstation where appropriate. In addition, check the startup type of the service.
	Unknown	Help	This status is displayed when an unknown error occurs. In this case, please contact our Support.

Last update

Information on the current status of the last update carried out is displayed in this box.

The following details are displayed:

• date of the last update

• version of the installed virus definition file and date created

• version of the installed search engine and date created

The following possibilities are available:

	Date of last update, e.g. 18.07.2005	Start update	Your AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic Version has been updated during the last 24 hours. Note You can update your AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic to the latest version via the link Start update.
		Not available (only in the demo version)	No updates are possible in the demo version. Further information can be found in the License section of the online help.
	Date of last update, e.g. 15.07.2005	Start update	Since updating, 24 hours have already passed but you are still within the update-reminder-cycle you chose. This cycle depends on the settings in the configuration. Note You can update your AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic to the latest version via the link Start update.
		Not available (only in the demo version)	No updates are possible in the demo version. Further information can be found in the License section of the online help.
	Not performed	Start update	No update has been carried out since installation or the update-reminder-cycle, chosen by you,  exceeded (see configuration)and no update has been executed. Note You can update your AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic to the latest version via the link Start update.
		Not available (only in the demo version)	No updates are possible in the demo version. Further information can be found in the License section of the online help.

License valid until

Information on the current status of your AntiVir PersonalEdition Classic license is displayed in this box.

The following possibilities are available:
